Horton Advisory

Our brief for the Horton Advisory office was to create an open and inviting workspace with the atmosphere of a contemporary library – light-filled, quiet, and space for greenery. The existing office had several key issues to overcome; noise pollution from lengthy phone calls and meetings, existing angled walls that made it difficult to furnish the space, and summer heat gain from the large western windows.

Our strategy was to develop a long timber joinery unit that nestled into the angled walls, making use of the varying depth to efficiently accommodate the kitchenette, stationary storage, and a sound proof ‘pod’ that could be used for meetings, changing outfits, and podcast recording. This intensified edge condition allowed us to maximise the open plan office area within a new orthogonal geometry.
